A motion picture starring Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson will begin shooting in Guthrie on May 18.

Oklahoma Film and Music Office Director Jill Simpson said Friday principal photography on “The Killer Inside Me” starts Monday in New Mexico before moving to Oklahoma.

The production company will film in Guthrie for about three weeks, then hit other locations in Cordell, Enid, Oklahoma City and Tulsa.Filming for the movie originally was set to begin March 24, but was delayed by the actors’ conflicting schedules and until the full $10 million cost could be financed.

Based on a 1952 pulp novel by Anadarko native Jim Thompson, Affleck will portray a psychotic deputy sheriff struggling against his homicidal urges.
