Jessica Alba was seen with her daughter, Honor Marie, at The Grove in Los Angeles last night. Looks like Jessica was without any friends or family – guess she just needed some fresh air.

The hype created by celebrity yummy mummies like Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba has put women under pressure to lose weight quickly after giving birth, reveals a new Australian study.

The study conducted by Deakin University showed that more than one in four women are “usually or always dissatisfied” with their post-baby body.

Researcher Lucia Bongiorno said that the hype created by celebrity yummy mummies has also contributed to an unrealistic ideal.

“People are obsessed with celebrity babies and celebrity pregnancies,” the Courier Mail quoted her as saying.

“Babies have become a must-have sort of item,” she added.

Although the study involving 346 mothers of infants aged 1-12 months compare themselves with their peers with babies and child-free friends, they felt the most pressure to lose post-baby weight from the media.

Moreover, some fathers also pressured their partners not to gain too much weight while pregnant and to lose it quickly after giving birth.

Bongiorno said while mums compared themselves most to peers, their peers were also likely to be influenced by the same media images.

“Both mothers and their peers with new babies, when confronted by media pictures of celebrity mothers such as Bec Hewitt, are saying ‘I’ve got to look like that’,” she said.

“But celebrity mothers typically have nannies and personal trainers … the average mother doesn’t. So such an expectation is unfair on themselves,” she added.

The study will be presented at the Australian Psychological Society conference in Darwin.a

Jessica Alba stepped out solo on Saturday for a hair appointment in LA, but Sunday she was in a chic-striped dress for an afternoon out with Cash and Honor.

The trio stopped off for sandwiches before running a few errands and heading back home.

Apart from Jess’s travels to Texas to film Machete, their family has been enjoying the past few weeks together in California.

The ALMA Awards nominees were announced this morning from Eva Longoria’s restaurant Beso. Jessica Alba was nominated in the Actress in a Comedy category for her role on “The Office”.

Salma Hayek for her role on “30 Rock” and “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria Parker are competing with Jessica for the same prize.The ALMA Awards will air Friday, Sept. 18 on ABC. Judy Reyes Scrubs won in 2008 the prize for the best actress in a comedy.

Since it’s been confirmed that Robert Rodriguez is currently shooting his trailer turned feature Machete, some behind the scenes photos have popped up online.

The most recent batch feature Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal (yes, he’s alive), Danny Trejo, and Rodriguez.

I’m not exactly sure what their filming, but for some odd reason it involves Alba standing on an old school car in four inch heels. Make what you will of that when you view the photos below. Enjoy!

The rest of the Machete cast includes Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson and Jeff Fahey. Machete is the title character of the film based off of a fake trailer that was featured during Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse collaboration. Rumors started circulating that the short should be made into a feature length film, and lo and behold it’s happening!

The film’s star Danny Trejo has been in the business for a long time. He’s known for being a supporting character actor in most of Rodriguez’s films. This will be his first venture as the lending man of such a large ensemble. Hooray for Danny!
